ORGANICS

Our organics are grown in isolation from commercial production at Poplar Grove Farm. Integrity of product is maintained from field through storage to transportation. At Poplar Grove Farm we organically grow potatoes, onions and beans. Fresh Certified Organic Raspberries are now also available.

Organic farming works together with natural systems to create and maintain a healthy environment in which to grow food crops. We are committed to building and maintaining fertile living soils while protecting the intricate balance of earth, water and air.

On the farm, crop rotation, cover crops, cultivation, and hand hoeing are used in place of commonly used chemicals, including fertilizers and pesticides to create a healthy, organic choice for you, our valued customer.

We maintain the integrity of our produce, starting with planting and in-season inspections, through to storage and shipping. The entire growing season is catalogued and regulated by OPAM (Organic Producers Association of Manitoba) and QAI (Quality Assurance International). Certification and documentation of each food crop ensures that the highest quality standards are met.

In a sense, it is all about going back to our roots. Our family's farming heritage compels us to ensure that the crops that we produce are grown with respect for the earth and its valuable resources.
